This year, we&#8217;re especially interested in sentences that illustrate typical shortcomings in governmental documents. For the contest, we see it as an advantage if a sentence includes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>long compound words<\/li>\n<li>loanwords and abbreviations<\/li>\n<li>complex sentence structures<\/li>\n<li>attribute chains over three words<\/li>\n<li>abstract and ambiguous expressions<\/li>\n<li>passive voice \u201dexpressed by the official\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Send that counterproductive language to the Jargon Contest. Your suggestion could be chosen as Jargon of the Year during the FCG forum on June 7th. The contest is good-humored; its purpose is to focus attention on public sector language. Please send your nominees by the end of May.
